So… I haven’t been able to commit to too many weddings this year, but if there’s one thing I’ll never turn down, it’s a good old Tasmanian celebration – and at MONA no less, one of my favourite places in Australia. Now, a lot of people tell me they’re ‘up for anything’ when it comes to a shoot (I guess they’ve seen what I put my couples through), but quite rarely they actually are.
Enter power couple, Patrick and Natalie. After trekking through the forest, over and under fallen logs and branches, collecting prickles and bugs along the way, topped off with freezing, wet and windy conditions on top of Mount Wellington…. I think it’s safe to say they’re true to their word. What a couple of legends!
As will become quite apparent when scrolling down, Natalie’s infectious smile lit up the day. In fact, it was pretty hard to take a shot where she wasn’t smiling, laughing or exuding happiness in some way. And they’re the kind of moments I love to capture (and deserve to be captured).
A special thanks to Nina Hamilton for impeccable second shooting, as well as Cassie Sullivan for lending a hand (and a van) to the shoot. As fate would have it, the van was not only useful as some gorgeous set design/shelter from the rain… but also became my actual bed that night. Life on the road – it’s never boring.
Congratulations Natalie and Patrick, and thank you for inviting me to be a part of the fun. And a shoutout to MONA founder, David Walsh for making a guest appearance!
